Research In Motion has launched the new BlackBerry Torch 9860 smartphone, featuring the new BlackBerry 7 OS, in India for a price of Rs. 28,490.The BlackBerry Torch 9860 features a 3.7-inch display, which is said to be the largest display on a BlackBerry smartphone - this high resolution touch display is powered by Liquid Graphics technology. The Torch also reportedly features a next generation BlackBerry Browser, voice-activated searches, the ability to manage personal content separately from corporate content, as well as additional personal and productivity apps out of the box. The unit also comes with 4GB of on-board memory- expandable up to 36GB - and a 5MP camera.
The BlackBerry Torch 9860 reportedly delivers browsing results that are up to 40% faster than BlackBerry 6 based smartphones and up to twice as fast as models running BlackBerry 5. Additional enhancements to the browser have reportedly also optimized HTML5 performance for gaming and video experiences.
