HP May Reconsider Plans to Sell PC Business: Report

Along with the possible ouster of Leo Apotheker as CEO by the board of Hewlett Packard (HP), the company may reconsider its plans to sell or spin-off its PC division, according to a report in Bloomberg.

Quoting unnamed sources, the Bloomberg report states that along with discussing Apotheker’s future, the HP board is reconsidering the proposal to spin off the PC business.
About a month ago, HP had said that it is exploring a possible spin-off or sale of its Personal Systems Group (PSG). "HP will consider a broad range of options that may include, among others, a full or partial separation of PSG from HP through a spin-off or other transaction," the company had said in a statement at that time.
